YoDerm: Love it or Leave it?

I was approached by YoDerm,See  recently offering me a free consultation. I had heard a lot about these online doctors consultations, and was interested to see how the product/process worked to see if it was really worth it.

So first I’ll just give you a little bit of info about YoDerm. They are an online dermatology consultation service. The main focus for YoDerm is acne, although you can include concerns for other things (wrinkles, discoloration, rosacea etc.).

Getting Started:

Getting started with YoDerm is very easy, simply access their website. Create your account and enter your payment information. The consultation is a little steep, ringing up at $59 (there is a 60 day money back guarantee). Personally, my skincare issues are pretty manageable so for me, that was something that would stop me from continuing. However as I mentioned I received this consultation for free.

Once you have paid, you simply fill out a questionnaire regarding your skin, this covers your issues/ concerns, and a wealth of other information related to your skin (type, sunscreen usage, age, gender etc) , take a few pictures of your face so that the your assigned dermatologist, can get a better idea of your skin issues besides those that you have already mentioned. **Sidenote: this is not the time to look cute, lose the filters on the pictures, that way you are getting a full and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

Something that I really liked about YoDerm is that you as the patient can choose how mild or intense you want your treatment plan to be. I personally don’t like harsh things on my skin or even taking new medication, which YoDerm physicians can prescribe.

Treatment Plan:

Once I submitted my information, I was told I would receive my treatment plan within 24 hours, but I only waited about 10 minutes. This is where I have a little bit of apprehension. I was doing this consultation pretty late in the evening. So since this is supposed to be a paid for consultation with a real dermatologist, I found it a little be hard to believe that an actual dermatologist read through my stuff and really analyzed my skin and created a treatment plan in that time. I’m not a doctor, but it seems a little quick to me.

My YoDerm Treatment Plan

The only other issue I have with YoDerm  is that you don’t seem to have the option of whether or not you want to order the prescription. I chose a pharmacy when answering the opening questionnaire, but thought I would have the option of whether or not I wanted to order the prescription. Some insurance programs are weird and you may end up paying a pretty steep co-pay. I didn’t even realize that my prescription was there and I did not pick it up because it was pretty expensive.

I have started following the rest of the treatment plan, I am even giving my skin a break from makeup for the week.

I have not noticed a big difference on my skin just yet, but I do know that it can take time.

Love it or Leave it? :

Overall, I think YoDerm is a pretty good option if you don’t have time to make it to the dermatologist and you want a consultation/prescription for your acne. There are some things I was not a fan of but here the benefits outweigh the flaws.

So I would recommend YoDerm, if you are willing to pay, I think it is a great investment in yourself and good way to save some time. We all know sitting in any doctor’s office is draining, give it a try here.

Thank you for reading and huge thank you to YoDerm for letting me try your awesome product!

xoxo
